Aquarius Rainwater Harvesting
Aquapod
Aquapod
The AquaPod is designed for use on larger domestic and commercial rainwater harvesting applications. Its unique low profile design gives it unrivalled strength in a plastic tank. Allowing it to be installed in 300mm of stone surround to inverts of 4 metres. It is easily connected at the base by a 300mm push fit connector and then if utilising more than one pod for storage, it is locked together by its steel securing pin for ultimate strength.
The AquaPod can be installed in non trafficked dry ground conditions with only 350mm of cover meaning the excavation can be carried out without the need for any trenching or shuttering.
How does the aquapod work:
Rainwater from roof or surface areas is initially treat by one of our unique AquaPod filter systems.
For smaller commercial roof areas with up to 100mm downpipes. The rainwater is filtered through a 3p rainus filter which connects at the base of the down pipe to the main underground drainage system.
For much larger roof areas and surface water the AquaPod should have a silt trap or separator fitted upstream. This is connected to the underground pipe work leading from the roof area. For roof areas only the down pipe will connect into to a Silt Guardian which includes a proven silt and debris filter system.
The AquaPod system is also designed to harvest surface water from some hard standing areas. For primary treatment of surface water the system will require one of our Geoceptor hydrocarbon/silt separators fitted upstream of the pod storage. The Geoceptor will take out any silt and hydrocarbons in the water. Its proven high performance filter and separation system will supply extremely clean water to less than 5mg/l of pollutant.
Once the rainwater has been filtered then it is stored in the pod system before finally entering the control chamber. Inside the control chamber is a floating suction filter. The hose is connected via ducting to the Regal control panel. As with our Home range the controller manages the distribution of the stored water to the specific appliances. The standard Regal control package will deliver up to 3000 litres of water a day. If necessary we can supply much larger control systems. Booster Pumps and pressure vessels may be required on larger developments. Finally on the outlet/overflow of the control chamber we fit a non return valve. This prevents solids back flush and vermin entering system.
For more sensitive applications we can provide ultra violet filtration which will maintain a very high level of water quality.
