Retro Units
The Leading Sewage Treatment Upgrade System
Retro Solutions
Our Retro secondary treatment system or septic upgrade system has recently been redesigned to feature a new two stage modular system. Previously the system was only one unit with an integral secondary polishing chamber fitted inside a larger tank. We have changed the design of the Retro to benefit from a second stand alone module, much larger than the previous integral chamber, this is now fitted with a sludge return system and promotes a better nitrification level than the previous system.
The Retro as before, is designed to be installed when you have a failing septic tank or sewage treatment system and you need to achieve a better discharge standard from your existing installation. The new upgraded Retro unit features a two stage modular system which consists of a primary biomass treatment chamber, this is connected to and fed from your current installation. The treatment unit is sized to treat the effluent effectively and is then transferred into a final polishing chamber with a unique micron filter and sludge return system. The Retro can be fitted to existing septic tanks and some cesspits/cesspools that have sufficient existing volume for sludge containment by connecting a discharge pipe as shown below. This will give you an improved discharge quality.
Please Note : It is always important to ask for the required consent to discharge standard from your Environment Agency before going ahead with any modification of existing plants or tanks. Once this is established we can prescribe the most appropriate retro unit to meet the required effluent discharge standard which can be retrofitted easily by a competent contractor. However firstly we would need to establish the effectiveness and performance of your existing treatment plant or septic tank before a retro can be installed.
There is a limited chance that your application may not be suitable for this type of unit.
Please note also that if you are looking to upgrade an existing septic tank or cesspool that mains power will be required to the site to run the retro unit and installation of the electrical system should be carried out by a qualified electrician or tradesmen.
